Kanpai Japanese BBQ & Bar

Recently, Facebook is very popular with foods. You can always see on Facebook, the Top 10 Must Try Food in Penang, Melaka, Klang Valley and etc.

I spotted this a few weeks ago...

Just in case some of you doesn't understand Chinese, this is what it writes.
"Top 10 Affordable Buffets in KL"

So me Micheal decided to have a try one by one. Out of the 10 recommended, we have tried out only one. And decided try it out on the 15th of every month.

Coincidentally, one of his friends is celebrating her 21st birthday on the date we planned to try the food out. So to kill 2 birds with 1 stone, we recommend this place.
We book the table for 10 of us and reach there at 7pm. Though that it is still early which explains the number of guest in the restaurant, but the crowd didn't even added up to what we expect from a Top 10 listed restaurant.

The restaurant is divided into 3 sections.
1. Ala Cart section
2. Buffet section
3. Bar section (with only 1 bar table)

Yeah, just like what you see, RM 35+ buffet. And there is actually 2 types of buffet.

RM 35+ buffet only comprises of PORK. All parts of pork. RM 49+ buffet had lamb, beef, crab, and fish besides pork.
But because there are some who don't eat pork, so we ordered the RM 35+ buffet.
They have to order the same type of buffet for the same table. No mixing allowed. Besides BBQ, there is also the mini steamboat.

I forgot to take pictures as I was kinda hungry. All these was taken from Google, so credit to those who shared.
Our grill bar was not as clean as this. So we don't really grilled. If I'm not mistaken, we only refilled the pork like twice, but non-stop for the steamboat.
And our steamboat only contain mushroom, cabbage, pork ball and also crab stick. All these definitely doesn't worth RM 35+.

Quite a disappointment as we expect much from a Top 10 listed restaurant.
Wonder how they got into the TOP 10  list when Jogoya don't even get a place.

Well, maybe not everyone have the same taste bud, but you can give it a try. You will need to make a reservation here at their Facebook.

Will keep you guys posted on the next buffet restaurant that I will be trying on the 15th next month.

Blinded

A sudden mood of writing in this kind of situation...*weird*
That is why people say writer are always so weird.
I know I am not a writer, but I do like writing, so why as not claim myself as one. Hahaha *dont punch me*

Well, as look from my title, yeah...I'm temporary one-eye blinded since last Thursday.
Not sure what happen but the little guy on the right side is "amazingly" itchy.
So, normal reaction, sure scratch la!! What else we can do, right?
Scratching, scratching and scratching, it went RED!!! Like seriously red and not to mention, PAINFUL!!!

So I started to drip on EyeMo, as the early thought was just irritating eye.
But then, it got so serious the next day that opening the eye is super difficult and uncomfortable.
Able to hang up till after the morning meeting and at last, got the permission from the Boss to take MC!
Went to see the doc and he told me that my eye was injured, that is why it is infected now.
Where and how the hell did this little guy got injured??!
Im not wearing lens. I did not ride a motorbike (which the doc suspect). I did not even broke any glasses in these few days!! How come it got injured??!!

Puzzled and yet shocked, the doc ask me to rest for 2, 3 days, which is a no-no for me!
I had an event on the weekend that I need to attend, and my presence is a must for news coverage!
There would be no news from the event if I am not there.
So I lied to the doc that I am not working on the weekend, and I only need the Friday's MC.

The eye-drip and also the antibiotic that I got from the doc.
The drip was to be dripped every 2 hours and the antibiotic, 3 times a day.

Its Sunday today and I just got home from my event.
Was suppose to let the little guy have a good rest, and yet I am still blogging here!
Anyways, just a gentle reminder to you guys.
DONT EVER RUB YOUR EYES HARD AS THOUGH THEY ARE SOMEONE WHO STOLE YOUR MONEY OR WHATSOEVER. YOU WILL DEFINITELY REGRET IT!! DEFINITELY!!!

Take really good care of these little guys as they are super emo and super sensitive.
They will really make you suffer and you will not be able to perform your best till they gets their moods back.
Good luck!!!

CNY Dinner at D'Spice KL

This year CNY was slightly different from what we had planned all while long. My grandma passed away 2 days before CNY, and this caused everyone falls into the NO-CNY mode.

This was shown most obvious from my mum, as she cant accept the sudden death of my grandma which passed away during her sleep. No one really know the reason behind her death.

So none of us really celebrated CNY. The only thing I do is just dropby Peng Chung's house for fire cracker on the 10th day of CNY

And as the usual year, its a tradition that we Puchong Gang had CNY dinner either before or after CNY. Sad to say, the number of attendees drop year by year, but yet we still appreciate the time where we are able to gather together.

We bought the voucher from Groupon and had the dinner at D'Spice located at the heart of KL.

This restaurant was located at the Bukit Bintang Park. Nice environment despite the so-so food.

Shane & Peng Chung

The voucher we bought comes in set.

Cant help myself but to post all his picture. Puchong Lee Min Ho. Any single out there interested? Feel free to pm me. Haha

After dinner, dessert time at the famous Tous les Jours bakery.

Only me and Edwin had cakes as dessert as all of them are too full. So we ordered Red Velvet cake and also the Black Forest cake.

This marks the end of the gathering. Enjoy the time where we are able to gather together.
Should gather more often.

Birthday with LEGOLAND

LEGOLAND Malaysia first open on the 22nd of Sept 2012 at Johor Baru. Not very much the fans of Lego, so didnt have the urge to go.
Until one day when Micheal told me he wanted to bring me there for my birthday.
My first impression for this was like;
"Huh, Legoland? Got things to play meh??! O.o"

Cause, for me, Legoland is very much for kids. And imagine lining up for those rides together with kids, it would very much be so akward!!
But STILL! I still "on" for it cause its the very first couple trip with him. And its my birthday trip, so I don't have to pay for ANYTHING! So why not??!

He basically plan EVERYTHING! I just sit there, goyang kaki and wait for him to tell me what's next! So sweet of him right. But things don't turn out as we planned.

In order to save the time for traveling, he decided to take the midnight express bus. Here's what happen.

DAY 1 - 12.01.2014

Departed at 12.30am at TBS Terminal to Johor Bahru.
Estimated time to reach at Johor Bahru is is 5.30am (as stated on their website)
Due to me who is a picky-sleeper, I'm not able to sleep well on the bus. I keep waking up whenever the bus stop to drop down passenger that stops halfway.
Then, by 3.30am, the bus stop at one of the Johor Bahru station where almost half of the people in the bus got down. As we couldn't see the name of the station, we did not get down.
And only after that, we realize we had MISS THE STOP!!!
And the next stop is Singapore Custom!!!
We quickly got down at the custom and tried to find a taxi to get us back to the previous stop. But its 3.30am in the morning, and there is no taxi around the Custom.
No choice, so we walked by the highway to see if we are able to stop at vehicles and perhaps, some taxi who drives at night. We were lucky enough to get a taxi and took us back to the previous bus stop where Micheal's uncle is going to fetch us there is the morning.

We reached the previous station, named Terminal Larkin (there is no signboard at the station!!!) and got ourselves a table at the McDonalds nearby. At that time being, I was annoyed by him, cause he not only take away my sleep time (which is a no-no) but also makes me walked sooooooo far in the middle of the night. But I know is not his fault at all. Who knows the bus reaches the destination 2 hour earlier than expected time??!!!

I try my best to fall asleep at the tables in McD, while he finds his own sweet time with games in his phone till about 7am. I did some homework too on the places that we MUST go in JB, so we decided to have breakfast at one of the places that is reachable within 30 minutes walk. Yeah, this is the disadvantages of traveling without car.

I forget the name of this restaurant actually, but they serve very nice and healthy clear soup noodles with a lot of stuff in it. It costs us RM 7 for a medium bowl of noodles, RM 5 for a small bowl and RM 9 for a large one.
We chill here till about 8+ to 9 and his uncle comes to fetch us to LEGOLAND!!!
At this time being, I'm still very sleepy due to the lack of sleep. In the future, I will definitely say NO to traveling in midnight.

LEGOLAND opens at 10am, and we are already there at 9+. So we just walk around after we bought the ticket. For Lego lovers, this is a place where you should go. You will be amazed by their decoration!

The entrance fees that caused us RM150 per person, which covers only the Theme Park and Water Park and also a RM10 food voucher. Not gonna come here again until my future daughter and son is old enough to play here. Its definitely not worth it for me.

LEGOLAND Hotel! If you are able to, it would be more worth to buy their package that comes with the hotel stay.

Even their toilet door is decorated with Lego wallpaper.

Selfie before going in. Our eyes look so small, the results of lack of sleep.

A must-take photo at the entrance. Failed picture, the passerby cameraman don't know how to take picture.

We went to the Theme Park first, even though the people there ask us to play the Water Park first due to the chances of rain. Cause we do not want to get ourselves sweaty again after bathing.

For me, the LEGOLAND concept is more or less the same as Universal Studio. But one thing is only 40% of the rides we adults can play. Others are all in mini size.

While on one of the rides. Its like a spinning tower where we are able to view the whole LEGOLAND.

After that we went to the Water Park. One thing I don't like about their concept is that they have border between the Water Park and the Theme Park. And you couldn't transfer your locker from the Theme Park to the Water Park. So to save money on locker (which cost RM20 per locker), we need to walk in and out to change and bath and everything.

Us after Water Park. Both of us got a little sun burn. But for me its still okay cause I applied lots of moisturizer after that.

His uncle came and fetch us after that. We went dinner then we stay over night at his uncle house.
Nothing much on first day, and basically its all about LEGOLAND.

Day 2 - 13.01.14

His uncle and aunty got a lunch appointment at KL at 11am, so they needs to leave the house at 6.30am. They leave means we needs to leave too.

While waiting for all the other to shops to open, we just hang around at McD, waiting for their McCafe to open too.
Selfie in the morning is also a no-no, especially when u have to wake up at 5.30am and do not have enough sleep.

We basically had nothing to do on the 2nd day, so we just take bus, walk around town and eat.

While waiting for bus to take us back KL at 4pm.

This marks the end of the trip. Even though tired and not very happy at first, but I did enjoy spending time with this guy. Thanks for everything!

Kok Hou & Peng Chung Birthday at Italianesse

Yes, it is finally the birthday of the only boy in the group. This year round, no club for them. Simply because Peng Chung is flying off to KK for some time to look after the new branch of his company there. Not sure when will he be coming back, but yet, we will still miss him.

We had dinner at Italiannese, The Gardens as the birthday boys want to have Italian food.
Since we have a group of 9 person, so we order food in a large portion and share among ourselves. It is definitely cheaper compare to ordering a dish per person.

Smoked Chicken Pizza with Beans. Not very nice. The basil leaves smell is too strong that it covers up the other smell.

Mussels with White Wine & Lemon. Thumbs up for this dishes.

Stuffed Mushroom with Cheese. Very nice too. Will learn to make this some day.

We eat and chit chat throughout the dinner. Really enjoy spending time with them. We don't meet often, but yet still remain the friendship between us. Able to share anything and everything between us. Feels great to have them.

After dinner, its birthday cake and candles blowing ceremony for the birthday. Purposely bought these relight candle during shopping at Paradigm Mall last Sunday. Able to surprise the birthday boys a little. They have a "tough" time blowing off the candles.

Happy Birthday guys! Stay young and energetic as always. All the best in work!

Yeah, group photo, a must! Hope this numbers of people remains and don't get lesser. Friendship forever!!

Sneak Peak of those who attended!! Thanks for coming!!
